“The Department of Health provides safety net services to all the people of New Mexico. We are in all 33 counties through health promotion in our divisions of Public Health, Epidemiology, Developmental Disabilities, and facility licensing. The population we serve is spread across the life span from prenatal services to the elderly, and across a broad geographical landscape, including urban rural and frontier locations. We provide programming to individuals who would otherwise have no access to care. We carefully monitor the health of our population. It is crucial that everyone be counted so that we can continue to provide essential services and programs to improve the health outcomes for all New Mexicans.”
